30 (Adele)

Adele‘s long anticipated album 30 (click here for information) is one of my favourite albums of 2021. A deeply personal album with a narrative element, which shouldn’t be played on shuffle.

Adele pours out her heart, and so listening to this album is an emotional experience, so much so that after my first listen I jokingly commented on Facebook that I needed counselling.

The album centres on Adele’s divorce, motherhood, fame, heartache, acceptance, and hope. It’s a highly creative album, and one which develops her previous work rather than a successful singer-songwriter resting on her laurels. Indeed, many have described it as her best album yet.
