Theft of Intellectual Property?
I love Webuser magazine dropping through my letterbox every two weeks, but was disgusted by their latest cover! Who pays for the excellent BBC programmes people watch on demand if everyone took this advice? We would lose the BBC in its present form and have another broadcaster with inane adverts! They need to be more responsible! They might as well be encouraging theft of all intellectual property! Yes, I’m having a rant! [winks]
Webuser magazine replied to me on Twitter as follows: We realise it’s controversial, but with no fee needed for iPlayer catch-up, it’s a necessary debate to have. To which I replied: Yes, but not with your headline!
But think about it? I freely publish the photographs I take on the web, with certain licence conditions that I trust people to respect. Good friends of mine produce music, make it freely available on the web (pay what you like), and expect credit and remuneration. What would society be like without trust? Give it some thought!
